Office Update
This month you will see another face here at the office as we have hired another employee.  Her name is Andrea and she will be working at the front desk with Nina, Monday through Friday.  We have been so busy, for so many months, that Nina has been way too busy with the paperwork.  We preach a healthy lifestyle, and sometimes we forget ourselves that too much work is not healthy.  Andrea will help us balance our work load.  In addition, Bev will continue to work with us as well.

This month the office will be closed on November 23rd, 24th, and 25th (Thursday thru Saturday over the Thanksgiving holiday).

I would like to give thanks to all the patients of our office for being our patients.  We appreciate you and are grateful that you have chosen our office for your chiropractic needs.  THANK YOU!

With Thanksgiving upon us, I would like to especially thank all those who refer a patient to our office with a complimentary spinal adjustment on us!   During the month of November, when you refer someone to our office, we will send you a letter with an enclosed gift certificate for a free spinal adjustment.

Three Chiropractic Words
Whenever I see a patient who is new to chiropractic, I realize they are uncertain of what chiropractors do.  I take the time to explain these three words to each and every new patient so they can better understand chiropractic.
  • Subluxation
A subluxation is a misaligned vertebra that causes irritation to the nervous system.  This is a very significant thing because the nervous system is the main controlling and coordinating system of the body.
  • Adjustment
An adjustment is the procedure that chiropractors use to correct the subluxation.  I have many ways to adjust each and every subluxation.  I generally use my hands to make an adjustment, sometimes I use an instrument.  Sometimes you feel and/or hear an audible popping when the adjustment is performed, and sometimes you don't.  The popping sense/sound is not necessary for the adjustment procedure to be effective.
  • Innate Intelligence
Innate intelligence is the intelligence that we were born with.  It is the inner wisdom of the body that allows us to heal.  It is the same intelligence that allowed us to develop from one fertilized cell, that allows our heart to beat, that maintains us in existence.  It's not the job of the chiropractor to explain where this intelligence came from.  That is the place for religion.  It is the job of the chiropractor to recognize that innate intelligence exists, because it is the innate intelligence that allows us to heal once the correction is made to the subluxation.  Chiropractors do not give drugs or perform surgery.  Therefore, we rely totally on your ability to heal yourself (innate intelligence) once the correction is made.

Crisis Care
Every month I'll see returning patients who have not been in the office for a long time (many month to years) who come in with a very acute painful condition.  They often tell me that they had no problems until the acute pain started after a minor incident, like putting on underwear or lifting a seemingly insignificant amount of weight.  They will generally be surprised they ended up in the situation.  Often times they recall my informing them of the importance of maintenance care.  But it's too late for maintenance, because they are once again in acute pain and need to come in frequently just to get out of pain.

I believe health maintenance is put off because people are so busy these days that they just don't want one more thing to do.  And, when it comes to health - for some, it's not important enough to do unless there is some good reason to act...  like a painful symptom.  Chiropractors can check your spine for subluxation/s and give adjustments to correct subluxation/s.  You don't need to wait until the subluxation is so bad you are crawling in, but if you do, It's OK with me.  However, you might want to avoid a crisis and come in for maintenance care.

Thanksgiving Dinner Digestion
For those who celebrate Thanksgiving, and end up sitting on the couch, unable to move, feeling too full - I've got a great tip for you.  Digestive enzymes!  Take two or three prior to your meal and it will greatly aid in your digesting a big meal.  For the month of November we be selling Total Enzymes for a 25% discount.  Just ask us for the supplement that aids in digestion, we'll know what you are talking about.

First Visit Coupons
We understand that starting chiropractic care can be a big financial commitment for some.  Especially for those without insurance.  All this month we will be handing out a first visit care card to those who ask for one.  This is a great way to introduce your friends or family to chiropractic care, because It takes the mystery out of the cost for the first visit.  Those who have this card can come in for all first day services for $94.00.  This includes, the exam, X-rays (if necessary), and an adjustment.  Is there someone you know who could benefit from chiropractic care?

Refresh/Reload
I update the home page of our website monthly.  If you are not seeing the changes, you might need to click the refresh or reload button on your web browser.  This will clear out the old outdated cached file and you'll see what's new.
