Office Update:
This year, being no different than others, started off with a mad scramble with Nina and Andrea updating everyone's health insurance.  If you have a new plan or card please have Nina or Andrea make a copy of it, so we can keep your records up to date.  Nina recently attended a billing seminar to stay on top of all the latest trends and she is loaded-for-bear for those insurance companies who give our patients problems.  She does a great job.  Andrea just finished at PCC and will be attending PSU soon, she has been with us for over a year and is also doing a great job.

I finished the hockey season as the team chiropractor for two great teams; The River City Jaguars, who made it to the playoffs amidst quite a few injuries, and the Portland State Vikings, who, as a first-year team ended the season with 9 wins and 12 losses.  Great job for both teams!  Congrats to all the players and coaches who gave it their all.  Special note goes to the many players of the Junior Hawks who came in to the office, and referred their teammates.  I even had a chance to treat a player on a team I did not even know was out there - The Portland Firefighters Hockey team.  I really enjoy working with all the hockey players and I look forward to the next season.

With spring approaching, I'll be taking care of the crazy downhill mountain bikers soon.  I plan on attending as many races as possible at Skibowl this year.  I'll also be traveling to Whistler Canada in August to watch the pros race at the 2008 Crankworx event.

I'm looking forward to another year, I'm sure it will be interesting as ever.

Fibromyalgia or anything else...
Can chiropractic help fibromyalgia?  I've heard that question time and time again.  The answer is yes.  How?  We'll it's like anything else that chiropractic helps with.  Adjusting subluxations allows the body to be free from nervous system interference.  What?   Oh man, this again?  How many times do I have to go over this: )

A subluxation is a misaligned vertebra that interferes with the nervous system.  The nervous system is the main controlling and coordinating system of all the systems, organs, tissues, and cells of the body.  Interfere with this system, and you can have as many problems as you have neurons.  There are about 10 million neurons in the spinal cord.  Class dismissed - for now.

New Work Comp Laws:
Old laws were that you had 30 days and 12 visits to recover chiropractically (Is that a word?) from your work injury, this year you have 90 days and 18 visits.
