The Sciatiac nerves are the broadest and longest peripheral nerves in the body. They are formed from lumbar and sacral nerve roots (L4,L5,S1,S2,S3). They pass down from the low back into the gluteal region then descend into the thighs, where they divide into the tibial and common peroneal nerves. The many branches of these nerves supply the muscles and skin in the thighs, legs and feet. |
